The Bean Bag Chair was first popular in the late 1960`s and early 1970`s and is currently enjoying a big renaissance. Bean bags are basically a material outer shell stuffed with pellets manufactured from a material such as pvc, polystyrene or styrofoam. The outer shell is sealed to prevent the pellets from escaping. When a person sits on a Bean Bag Chair the pellets have enough room to move within the material which allows the bean bag to mould to the person`s body contours. This makes sitting on a Bean Bag Chair a fun and extremely comfortable experience. People find that they are not restricted to sitting in conventional positions when using a bean bag and lying on a bean bag can be extremely comfortable. Bean bags make ideal chairs for relaxing on whilst watching a film or playing video games. The outer shell of a bean bag can be manufactured out of practically any material and to any dimensions. It is not uncommon to see a bean bag that is as big as a large couch. Common materials are leatherette, suede or even leather itself.
